Shoes, Shoes, Shoes....

Being the woman that I am, I'm obsessed with a good deal! So you can imagine my sheer delight when I meandered down the 80% off aisle at Hobby Lobby last week wondering what "treasure" I was going to find. I had decided before even starting down that aisle that I didn't really "NEED" anything but would just look. FAMOUS last words... When I rounded the corner, I realized I had stumbled upon a gift from God. There before me were flip flops on sale for $0.67...perfect for taking to Haiti to pass out at the orphanage. How could I pass up shoes for 67 cents for children who truly needed them? I was even able to share with the ladies standing in the check out line with me. They questioned me about my "obvious love of gardening and need for gardening shoes... I was able to share with them that I wasn't the avid gardener as the had thought but would be sharing these shoes with orphans in Haiti. I'm not sure they really believed my story by the looks on their faces BUT...I know the truth....These shoes were purchased, packed, carried, and will be given with love.

Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful on the mountains
are the feet of the messenger who brings good news,
the good news of peace and salvation,
the news that the God of Israel reigns!

  1. I love this story! But really... who would assume that you were gardening?! If I saw someone buying 10 pairs of flip flops, I would think, hmm... they want to match lots of different outfits NOT oh, they must love gardening! But to each their own.

I must say you did an extremely wonderful job staging those shoes before you took the pic!! Looks amazing! Thank you for following God's calling B and going to Haiti!
