James 1:16-18 (NLT) So don’t be misled, my dear brothers and sisters. Whatever is good and perfect comes down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow. He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.
Does anyone else struggle with wrapping their mind around the fact that He chose us out of ALL of creation to be his prized possession? Wow! There are some pretty incredible creatures in this world and yet he chose Me. I am not just valued I'm prized and I belong to Him. I think of all those beautiful gems and stones in a jewelry store sparkling under bright lights, just waiting to catch someones eye and be purchased...to wrap them up in a box and be given as a token and expression of love. But the real truth is that God has already purchased me. I'm not some prized gem waiting to be picked off the shelf. I ALREADY BELONG! If you have trusted Christ you belong too. What a thought!
