The Official Countdown....
The countdown
to Sierra Leone 2012 has officially begun! Today marks exactly 30 days until I
depart on my adventure....and adventure it will be. This is a
short but important list of details we have to secure in the next 30
days.
*Where we will be staying
*If we'll be staying in someone's mud hut OR sleeping on the ground. (Allow me a moment of honesty when I say these 2 options make Motel 6 look appealing. Sleeping on the ground in a land of poisonous snakes doesn't exactly sit well in my mind....It's one thing to camp at Smithville Lake and an entirely different ball game when you're in a country with deadly slithering creatures. I'll keep you posted on how that turns out!)
*Where we will get clean water to drink
*The food situation: Cliff Bars or Cliff Bars?!?!
* What specific villages we will be traveling to. (This depends on the amount of rainfall they have received once we get in country. The rainy season begins the first part of May each year so any rain received prior to our arrival could slow us down. We're hoping we have access to some 4 wheel drive vehicles once we arrive.
*Oh and I have yet to receive my Visa from the Embassy of Sierra Leone in Washington D.C. I can't get access into the country until I have that small piece of documentation.

Wow. And WOW again. I'm so inspired by your amazing heart and soul that will forever hold a special place for your first HOME! I wish I could go with you to see it in person! Take tons of pictures (as I'm sure you will) and I can't WAIT for you to take a return trip HOME! P.S. Let's do coffee, already!! Call/text/e-mail me! :-)
